windy leaves

[ part 1 ]
it was a windy day in the village of pine, Arlo the goat boy walked home at day's decline.
the wind blew his hat off with mischievous glee, leaving his curls to dance wild and free.
[ part 2 ]
it tumbled down the hill in a playful flight, Arlo chased after it with all his might.
until the hat was caught in its wild ballet, by gentle hands that saved it from floating away.
[ part 3 ]
"thank you, thank you," Arlo said with relief bright, "it's nothing," the boy said, eyes filled with light.
"wait, what's your name?" Arlo began to implore, but the strange boy had vanished, there no more.
[ part 4 ]
weeks later at the library with books to return, Arlo spotted the hat-catcher, causing his heart to yearn.
"it's you!" the goat boy exclaimed with delight, as Leo the librarian's smile shone warm and bright.

"I've thought of you often," Arlo softly admitted Leo's cheeks flushed pink, his composure permitted "perhaps tea sometime?" the goat boy proposed Leo's eager nod made promises yet undisclosed
